Abstract

This study aims to conduct a comprehensive examination of research in medical education, especially in graduate medical education within the context of climate change. Moreover, this study examined the current research trends on climate change for graduate medical education. The analysis encompasses citation, co-citation, co-occurrence, thematic mapping and evolutionary analyses. Through this bibliometric review, researchers will gain valuable insights by identifying influential publications and understanding the fundamental structure of the field. Additionally, this review paved the way for future studies by highlighting influential research trends and emerging topics. The findings delineate various approaches of discussion based on clusters identified through the analyses. Moreover, the study discussed theoretical and methodological implications for the emergence of new sub-fields and promising future research in the intersection of medical education and climate change. By employing bibliometric analysis, this study distinguished itself in examining the intersection between graduate medical education and climate change. The research underscored the pivotal role of medical education in shaping climate change initiatives and emphasizing the urgent need for comprehensive measures to address climate change.
