Abstract
Background: The concept of One Health addresses the interconnected health of humans, animals, and the environment, offering a critical framework for tackling complex health challenges. However, gaps in the integration of One Health principles into medical education limit the ability of future healthcare providers to operationalize this knowledge in practice. The "GLOBES" module (Guiding Learners towards One health, Biodiversity, and Environmental Stewardship) was designed to bridge these gaps, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3, 13, 14, 15) to promote holistic and interdisciplinary healthcare education. Methods: The "GLOBES" module was developed with 22 competencies across ten categories, incorporating case-based learning, interdisciplinary activities, and reflective exercises. Validation included an e-Delphi study with experts, achieving high face validity (evaluation score: 1.00) and content validity (I-CVI: 0.995, S-CVI/UA: 0.96). Reliability was confirmed (ICC: 0.997). The module was piloted with 24 final-year medical students over eight weeks, using pre- and post-tests to assess knowledge improvement. Statistical analysis included paired t-tests (p < 0.05) and qualitative feedback analysis. Results: Validation established the module's robustness, with high face and content validity and strong reliability. Pre-test scores averaged 41.5 ± 4.22, increasing significantly to 79.5 ± 3.66 (p < 0.0001). Improvements were consistent across competencies, particularly in Risk Assessment (45% to 85%) and Cross-Sector Collaboration (40% to 80%). Participants highlighted the module's engaging, practical, and reflective approach, with 96.4% agreeing it effectively enhanced knowledge and skills. Conclusion: The "GLOBES" module demonstrated its potential to bridge educational gaps, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and practical application of One Health principles. Its success underscores the importance of integrating experiential learning into healthcare education
